Ascension Catholic School has allowed me to build a solid foundation and it continues to do so throughout my life. The wonderful staff of Ascension has provided me with educational nourishment which has allowed me to expand beyond my dreams and view the world with a different perspective. As a young child, I was taught to value faith, intellect, potential, and life. I was instilled with the need and the desire to become the person I am today: a young, smart, spiritual woman of distinction. To me, Ascension is not simply just a school in southern California, but it is like a second home.
Ascension Catholic School has played a very important factor in my life because it has given me the key to success: an education. Therefore, it holds a very special place in my heart which I will never forget. It is the home in which I grew up in and the place where I came out as a leader ready to face the challenges that life has to bring and as a disciple of God ready to proclaim the good news. Once again I would like to thank, first and foremost, God, Dr. Kallay, Fr. Humberto, all of the staff of Ascension, and my parents because without them I would not be where I am today. I would not be the woman I am today.
Ruby went on to graduate from St. Mary’s Academy in Inglewood, California. She is currently a freshman at the University of California at Riverside, studying engineering. We are proud she calls Ascension home!
